A SaaS product needs more than a dashboard. Customers need to sign up, understand the product, control their data and use the service reliably. Prime Pixels offers product development scoped from the first useful workflow through deployment and ongoing improvement.
Choose a focused MVP
Define the customer, the problem and the action that delivers value. Map the journey from registration to that action, including onboarding, empty states and error recovery. Prioritise a usable end-to-end workflow before expanding into a long list of features.
A written scope should identify what will be delivered, what is excluded, how it will be tested and who approves each milestone. A prototype is useful for reviewing a workflow, but it is not evidence that the production system is secure or ready to operate.
Customer workspaces and permissions
If several organisations share the platform, their data must remain separated. Organisation membership, roles, invitations and server-side permission checks should be designed together. Administrative access also needs explicit boundaries and an audit trail for important changes.
Testing should include attempts to access another customer’s records, not just the normal user journey. Account recovery, session handling and staff access are part of the product requirements.
Subscriptions and payment events
Agree the rules for trials, plan limits, upgrades, cancellations and failed payments before building checkout. Product access should follow verified payment events and entitlement rules, with duplicate events handled safely.
Payment providers have their own eligibility rules and fees. Tax handling, invoices, refunds and contractual terms require a separate decision for your business. A successful checkout screen alone does not prove that the subscription lifecycle works.
Integrations, reporting and operations
- Integrations: define API access, rate limits, background jobs and recovery from failed requests.
- Reporting: document each metric and its source so dashboards describe real activity.
- Deployment: separate environments and define release and rollback procedures.
- Operations: agree monitoring, backups, recovery exercises and support ownership.
Prepare for handover and improvement
The handover should cover access, source code arrangements, deployment documentation and operational responsibilities. Agree which maintenance tasks are included and which require a new scope. Hosting, provider usage and support coverage contribute to the running cost.
After launch, use observed customer behaviour and support feedback to prioritise changes. Avoid interpreting a small amount of early activity as proof of demand or promising a fixed commercial outcome.
Common questions
Can you start with an existing product?
An existing application can be reviewed for its architecture, workflows and constraints before deciding what should be retained or changed.
Can the product include AI or a mobile app?
These can be scoped as connected workstreams. Review our AI solutions and mobile app services.
What determines the quotation?
The number and complexity of workflows, integrations, permissions, reporting requirements and operational targets. Bring a product brief and priorities so these can be discussed explicitly.
